Recovery Zone Bonds

Two new tax-preferred bonds are now available under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Recovery Zone Bonds are issued by state and local governments for areas designated as Recovery Zones.

• Recovery Zone Economic Development Bonds (RZ-Economic Development Bonds),
• Recovery Zone Facility Bonds (RZ Facility Bonds).

Recovery Zones are areas designated by state and local issuers as having significant poverty, unemployment, rate of home foreclosures, or general distress.
