Procurement
The Office of State Procurement (OSP) has primary responsibility and oversight for the State wide procurement of commodities, technical and professional services for all state agencies, boards and commissions and colleges and universities. OSP provides training in the Procurement Law, regulations and policies.
According to Act 1222, "All state agencies shall attempt to ensure than ten percent (10%) of the total amount expended in state-funded and state-directed public construction programs and in the purchase of goods and services for the state each fiscal year is paid to minority businesses."
AEDC's Small and Minority Business Division is responsible for tracking these participating agencies, boards, commissions, colleges and universities in their procurement expenditures in these areas.
