Remington Outdoor Company announces plans to grow manufacturing facility in Lonoke
January 21, 2016The Remington Outdoor Company (“ROC”), the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of firearms, ammunition and related products, today announced growth plans at its ammunition plant in Lonoke, Arkansas. As part of the plans, the company plans to invest in the facility and create 84 new jobs.
News was shared this week in Las Vegas where Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson met with Remington officials at the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show (SHOT Show). Governor Hutchinson originally met with company officials in February 2015. This is the first time an Arkansas governor has attended the show.
“Remington is a world-class company that is making another significant investment in Arkansas,” Governor Hutchinson said. “Arkansas’ reputation as a hub for firearms and ammunition manufacturing continues to grow thanks to Remington’s decision to expand again in the state. It was a pleasure to meet with Remington’s leadership at the SHOT Show and I look forward to continuing to work together.”
Remington Arms was founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington in upstate New York. The company is the country’s oldest continuously operating manufacturer.
“I am proud of the continued growth and expansion we are experiencing at our Lonoke, Arkansas facility,” said ROC CEO Jim Marcotuli. Our company’s ethos of “pride and precision” is reflected in the quality ammunition our hardworking team members produce every day, and we are all looking forward to continuing this important work with the great state of Arkansas.”
